Cool find MMJ!  Agree (Nodding Smiley)  thanks for posting this up  Thumb Up

Aquima, the fashion show was very recent so I imagine that it is quite current news.

'soon'  ... the most ominous and vauge adverb.  Big Grin

Just found something interesting on Amazon:

The Mountain Shadow (Paperback)
by Gregory David Roberts (Author)
Product details
Paperback: 560 pages
Publisher: Little, Brown (4 Feb 2010)

Quote
A sequel to SHANTARAM but equally a standalone novel, The Mountain Shadow follows Lin on further adventures in shadowy worlds and cultures. It is a novel about seeking identity, love, meaning, purpose, home, even the secret of life...As the story begins, Lin has found happiness and love, but when he gets a call that a friend is in danger, he has no choice but to go to his aid, even though he knows that leaving this paradise puts everything at risk, including himself and his lover. When he arrives to fulfil his obligation, he enters a room with eight men: each will play a significant role in the story that follows. One will become a friend, one an enemy, one will try to kill Lin, one will be killed by another...Some characters appeared in Shantaram, others are introduced for the first time, including Navida Der, a half-Irish, half-Indian detective, and Edras, a philosopher with fundamental beliefs. Gregory David Roberts is an extraordinarily gifted writer whose stories are richly rewarding on many levels. Like Shantaram, The Mountain Shadow will be a compelling adventure story with a profound message at its heart.

Well, this is good news indeed. We've got a year to wait, apparently, but at least we have a date. Mind you, we had a date for the movie too.............

I must say, the synopsis from Amazon does not sound like anything I expected the sequel to be about.

I definitely hear what you're saying, Joe.  Smile

I half expect a delay anyway, although my other half thinks that it will be out early in time for Christmas. She's worked in a book store and has seen this happen, but I doubt it even though it sounds likely.

I'm think the synopsis sets out the basic details of a dark adventure, but surely there will be more to it than just that. So I guess we wait... Grin

What I meant about the synopsis is that I expected it to seem to follow (or perhaps precede) or at least to show some connection to the events of 'Shantaram', and it doesn't seem to. But no matter. It seems they are trying to sell it as a stand-alone story, and not on its Shantaram connection. I will read it regardless.

Oh, now I see what you mean- yes it does appear they are attempting to sell it as a stand alone book.

As far as I remember there is unfinished business with that dude who was Khader's right hand man. I can't remember his name now (Khaled?). I recall there being something about Sri Lanka...
