According to the online news magazine Variety, and other online sources, it appears the filming of Shantaram has been delayed due to last minute script changes.

 Also in the article, it says that Abhishek Bachchan is also set to star in the movie.

Apparently according to some news sources the problem was not with the script itself but the costs involved. Because filming was pushed forward to start in early 2008, they had to make cuts in the long script to figure in the budget, and the time spent filming.

I don't like the sound of this, it looks like the old hollybood bull* is trying to make shortcuts to save money - and the script cuts are less than ideal IMO if this film is to have any kind of link to the book as originally presented. We may end up at this rate with a washed out film without any spark of uniqueness.  Undecided
