That’s right folks, head on over to http://www.shantaram.com for the full rundown on what is new in the creative world of Gregory David Roberts. There are some very interesting additions including poems, essays, and commentary on a number of issues which Greg has provided in response to reader emails. Thanks goes to Greg for providing the new insights for his fans and readers. I’m always really interested to hear news from his quarter, and I think that he’s got to say is really very important. What about you? I’m still really looking forward to The Mountain Shadow, and hopefully we can all have that in our library soon also. My thoughts on the sequel are that we ought not to expect a real-time continuation of Shantaram, but more a progression in story-telling which no doubt comes from a writer’s evolution as an artist in their form. I think it will be special for different reasons from Shantaram, but these are only guesses. Feel free to let me know what you think the Shantaram sequel will be like in the comments below, or on our forum.

The Mountain Shadow – Shantaram sequel from Gregory David Roberts
by admin on Apr.15, 2009, under Uncategorized
That’s right. In a recent discussion on our forum, it was revealed that the eventual sequel to Shantaram would be named The Mountain Shadow which is now available on amazon.co.uk for pre-order.
The description from amazon.co.uk says this about the new novel:
A sequel to SHANTARAM but equally a standalone novel, The Mountain Shadow follows Lin on further adventures in shadowy worlds and cultures. It is a novel about seeking identity, love, meaning, purpose, home, even the secret of life…As the story begins, Lin has found happiness and love, but when he gets a call that a friend is in danger, he has no choice but to go to his aid, even though he knows that leaving this paradise puts everything at risk, including himself and his lover. When he arrives to fulfil his obligation, he enters a room with eight men: each will play a significant role in the story that follows. One will become a friend, one an enemy, one will try to kill Lin, one will be killed by another…Some characters appeared in Shantaram, others are introduced for the first time, including Navida Der, a half-Irish, half-Indian detective, and Edras, a philosopher with fundamental beliefs. Gregory David Roberts is an extraordinarily gifted writer whose stories are richly rewarding on many levels. Like Shantaram, The Mountain Shadow will be a compelling adventure story with a profound message at its heart.
We’d like to know if you are anticipating this new novel from Gregory, and if you are you can comment below, but don’t stop there -join our forum now and tell us what you thought about Shantaram.
